Resumen
In the field of business management, cognition has become one of the main vehicles to explain the management of the strategic process. Recent literature on the process of strategy formulation and implementation begins to recognize the importance of incorporating managerial cognition in the explanation of phenomena at the organizational level. In this context, the objective of this research is to analyze the evolution of strategic cognition, trying to conceptually integrate managerial and organizational cognition. To this end, a documentary content analysis has been conducted, primarily focusing on journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) database. It is estimated that this work contributes to establishing the relationship between cognition and business strategy, providing a useful framework so that decision-makers can learn about what cognitive aspects should be managed to improve the design and renewal of business strategies.
