Abstract

This article analyzes the history of one of the Chilean Socialist Party’s faction, named National Coordinator for Regions (NCR). We claim the NCR continued militant coordination and tendencies of a disruptive left kind within socialism before the Coup d’état, found itself experiencing a growing process of radicalization and that during the UP they embraced the slogan of "advancing without compromising." The CNR was a relevant referent for the clandestine rearticulation of the socialist militance, playing an important role in the post Coup debate, resuming long-standing political and strategic discussions in the PSCh and entering into a conflict with an Interior Directorate marked by the strategic guidelines established in the March Document. On the other hand, we claim that this faction was represented by three structures demanding direction and identity: two from the inside and one from the outside.
